More than 650,000 students in the fourth or eighth grade took the Â鶹ÉçÊÓƵ 2023 assessment in mathematics and science, which included interactive questions and problem-solving tasks designed to motivate students and capitalize on the assessment’s digital format.

Â鶹ÉçÊÓƵ 2023 also gathered contextual data related to students’ achievement by means of questionnaires administered to students, parents/guardians, teachers, and school administrators. These data enable policy-makers and researchers around the world to better understand student achievement and the factors that may influence it, empowering them to make evidence-based decisions about their education systems. Countries that have participated in multiple Â鶹ÉçÊÓƵ cycles are able to measure trends in achievement, providing some insight into the potential impact of previously implemented education policies.
